Religious groups are joining politicians and civic
groups in opposing Amendment 31, an effort to
modify the state constitution to ban bilingual
education.

Five religious leaders planned a news
conference today to express opposition, the No
on 31 campaign announced. They are Rabbi
Bruce Dollin of the Rabbinical Council of
Colorado, the Rev. Jim Ryan of the Colorado
Council of Churches, Pastor W.D. Wimmons of
Denver's Central Baptist Church, Mar
Muņoz-Visoso of the Hispanic Office Archdiocese
of Denver, and Gale Khan of the American Jewish
Committee of Colorado...."
