Redrawing school districts
Arizona Republic
October 16, 2003
What: A 13-member statewide task force will consider ways to redraw boundaries
for 35 Maricopa County school districts on Monday.
Background: The School District Redistricting Commission, established under a
2005 state law, is looking at boundaries for more than 120 school districts
statewide. If voters approve in 2008, your child's district could be
consolidated, expanded or eliminated to streamline costs and improve educational
quality.
Seeking comments: A public hearing about Maricopa County proposals will be at 2
p.m. Monday at ASU Decision Theater, 21 E. Sixth St., Suite 126, Tempe.
A public hearing about all Arizona school districts will be at 2 p.m. Nov.
15 at the State Capitol.
