Three quarters of Canadians now support bilingualism.
A Decima survey conducted for the Official Languages Commissioner finds support
for bilingualism has increased by more than 20 per cent over the past three
years.
The survey found 72 per cent of Canadians supported bilingualism. Support was 56
per cent in 2003.
Among those between 18 and 34 years old, support exceeded 80 per cent.
Support for bilingualism was highest in Quebec, and lowest in Alberta.
