Pedro Noguera, Ph.D.
– Dr. Noguera is a professor in the
Steinhardt School of Education at New York University. An urban sociologist,
Noguera’s scholarship and research focuses on the ways in which schools are
influenced by social and economic conditions in the urban environment.
Geneva Gay, Ph.D.
– Dr. Gay is a professor
of Education at the University of Washington. She is nationally and
internationally known for her scholarship in multicultural education,
particularly as it relates to curriculum design, staff development, classroom
instruction, and intersections of culture, ethnicity, and learning.
Angela Valenzuela, Ph.D.
– Dr. Valenzuela is an associate professor in Education and Mexican American
Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. Her book, Subtractive
Schooling: U.S. – Mexican Youth and the Politics of Caring recently won the
American Educational Research Association’s Outstanding Book Award.
Tara Yosso, Ph.D.
– Dr. Yosso is
an assistant professor in Chicana/o Studies at the University of California,
Santa Barbara. Her research and teaching utilizes the framework of critical
race theory, Latino Critical Race Theory and critical media literacy to focus
on the educational access, persistence and graduation of underrepresented
students in the United States.
