Chinese culture summer camp to be held


The Phoenix Sister Cities Commission, Taipei Committee and the Phoenix Preparatory Academy will host the 2007 Chinese Cultural Summer Camp from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday at Phoenix Preparatory Academy, 735 E. Fillmore Ave.

Educators from Taipei talk about cultural diversity through hands-on activities and projects including, dance, calligraphy, painting, dough art and athletics. For information, call Lin Ling Lee at (602) 548-8398.

Union sponsors immigration forum


The American Civil Liberties Union of Arizona Central Chapter is sponsoring a community immigration forum from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Grace Lutheran Church, 1124 N. 3rd St. The forum titled, "Immigration: A Civil Liberties Perspective," will discuss state and federal immigration policies that impact the constitutional rights of immigrants in Arizona. Speakers include Tracy Friddle, a deputy public defender; Judy Flanagan, an immigration lawyer in Phoenix; and two students. A short question and answer will follow the presentations.

Workshop promotes health, well-being


A "Promoting Your Own Well-Being" workshop will be hosted from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Adam Diaz Senior Center, 4115 W. Thomas Road. Dr. Susan Martin will present the workshop as part of the "Health for a Lifetime"
series of free workshops hosted by the Phoenix Human Services Department Senior Services Division and St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center.

Night golf offered at 2 Phoenix courses


The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department will offer night golf on two of the city's Par 3 courses, Encanto 9 and Palo Verde. Tee off at 7:30 p.m. at the Encanto 9 Golf course, 2300 N. 17th Ave., on Saturday for $30 per adult and free for one child per adult. During "Night Flight Golf" the course will be lined with glow lights and players will receive a glow necklace and glow ball. Night golf at Palo Verde starts in July.
